Desperados - Rave To Save

Music & sound design for an advertising campaign

At Sound Object, we were excited when the award-winning creative agency We Are Pi reached out to us to craft the soundtrack and sound design for Desperados' latest advertising campaign. This campaign, known as *Rave to Save*, aims to support nightclubs that were hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. Desperados is inviting party enthusiasts to dance their way to donations through a groundbreaking app, turning their moves into cash for the nightlife industry.

The campaign has been headlined by world-renowned DJs including Purple Disco Machine, Nakadia, Anja Schneider, Pan-Pot, Alle Farben, and MOGUAI. So far, it has featured four electrifying virtual parties hosted in clubs across Germany. When We Are Pi briefed us on the project, our task was to create a compelling musical backdrop that would capture the energy and spirit of these events.

We started by selecting a range of reference tracks to inspire the musical and sonic direction of the soundtrack. From there, we produced three original tracks, and the agency chose one as the foundation for the *Rave to Save* campaign.

Our chosen track was deeply influenced by German electronic music, featuring a pulsating bass line and a classic four-on-the-floor kick drum pattern. We embraced a minimalist approach, layering subtle sound design elements to add depth and texture. Additionally, we had the exciting opportunity to assist with recording the voiceover for the campaign launch video.

In the final stages, we extended the original soundtrack for use in the campaign's aftermath videos. This involved integrating dubstep elements and a prominent lead melody to accentuate the uplifting, party vibe. We also refined the voiceover and mixed the final track to fit perfectly with the visuals.

Working on this project was a thrilling experience, allowing us to blend energetic electronic music with innovative sound design to support a vital cause in the nightlife community.
