Dreams
Sound design & music for a VR installation
Our close collaborators at Antiloop Studio entrusted us with the sound design and music production for "Dreams", the official showcase of their groundbreaking Univrse technology. This project was an exciting opportunity for us at Sound Object to bring our immersive audio expertise to the forefront.
Univrse is a cutting-edge platform that allows users to build, deploy, and manage their own Metaverse. It supports interactive, multi-user VR experiences created with Unity—ranging from immersive presentations and product showcases to entertainment and gaming. The platform works seamlessly on PC/Mac desktops (no VR headset required) and is fully compatible with Oculus Quest I & II for a more immersive experience.
*"Dreams"* is an hour-long, multi-user VR experience designed for high-traffic venues like museums, cultural institutions, events, and showrooms. Located at IDEAL, the Digital Arts Center of Barcelona, users can explore a vast 200m² open space. The experience transports them to a “museum of dreams” suspended in the clouds, where several floors are accessed via elevator. Each level offers unique experiences, from engaging quizzes about dreams to magical Pixar-like sequences—such as being shrunk and chased by a toy T-rex or navigating through a mysterious labyrinth.
When creating the sound design and music for *"Dreams,"* our challenge was to craft a sonic landscape that felt both dreamlike and cohesive. The goal was to immerse users in this surreal world while keeping them grounded in the reality of the adventures. We achieved this by blending soft synthesized sounds with organic recordings, building an environment that feels familiar yet otherworldly. The result is a rich, immersive auditory experience that guides users through this fantastical journey.
By combining imaginative soundscapes with atmospheric music, we were able to enhance the dreamlike quality of *"Dreams"* and elevate the sense of adventure, making the virtual world even more captivating for users. This project was a wonderful opportunity to showcase how sound can transport audiences to entirely new dimensions within the Metaverse.
